Pediatric Psychopharmacology for Behavioral Health Clinicians

Training Description:

This 1.5-hour online training will provide information on the rationale for psychotropic prescribing in the pediatric population and will review general clinical principals, assessment, stigma as it relates to pediatric psychotropic prescribing, adherence to medications, and a review of specific medication groups targeting disorders and /or symptoms, including a review of side effects.

Training Objectives:

After participating in this training participants will be able to:

  • Describe the use of psychotropic medications in children and adolescents
  • Discuss the evidence for pharmacotherapy to manage psychopathology in children and adolescents
  • Discuss pharmacotherapy in specialized populations such as autism spectrum disorder
