Trauma Informed Care Two-Part Training: Comprehensive Introduction to Psychological Trauma

This is a two-part training. Upon registering, you will automatically be enrolled in both the 10/26 and 10/28 sessions.

Training Description:

Part 1 is designed to support individual and organizational efforts to provide trauma-informed care. In this training, we will discuss the experience of trauma and how it relates to mental health and overall well-being.  We will also discuss how trauma-informed strategies may be used to support recovery from traumatic experiences.

Training Objectives:

After participating in this training, including Part 1 and Part 2, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the impact of trauma and resiliency factors
  2. Describe the relationship between trauma and substance use
  3. Describe the core elements of trauma-informed relationships
  4. Demonstrate the ability to teach effective grounding and self-soothing techniques
  5. Demonstrate the ability to use strengths-based, emotionally validating redirection

Licensed Social Worker This program has been approved for 2.5 Social Work Continuing Education hours for re-licensure, in accordance with 258 CMR. NASW-MA Chapter CE Approving Program, Authorization Number D 91477.
Licensed Psychologist CE credits for psychologists are provided by the Spiritual Competency Academy (SCA) which is co-sponsoring this program. The Spiritual Competency Academy is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Spiritual Competency Academy maintains responsibility for this program and its content. MA Licensed Mental Health Counselor This program has been approved for 2.75 Category I MA MHCA hours for re-licensure in accordance with 262 CMR. MEACP Authorization 22-0592.
MA Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor This course has been approved by the Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Abuse Services/LADC Unit for 2.75 contact hours for Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors and Assistants.
MA Registered Nurse Program meets the requirements for nursing contact hours as specified by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing 244 CMR 5.04.
MA Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist This activity has been certified by NEAFAST on behalf of the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Mental Health & Human Services Professions, for LMFT professional continuing education. Certification #PC-041687.
