Trauma-Informed Screening and Assessment

Training Description:

This 1-hour training, Trauma-Informed Screening and Assessment is designed to provide tools for screening in a trauma-informed manner that will help the counselor and client develop a common understanding of the connection between their trauma and the issues they may be facing in the present. This approach will support a safe counselor-client relationship, provide effective services, and promote improved outcomes. In this training, we will examine trauma-informed techniques for collecting information about individuals and their families through the process of screening and assessment. Participants will learn about the principles of trauma-informed screening and assessment and will be given the opportunity to put these principles into practice.

After participating in this training participants will be able to:

1. Describe the principles of trauma-informed screening and assessment
2. Describe trauma-informed techniques for collecting information
3. Describe how to support a safe counselor-client relationship

MA Registered Nurse	Program meets the requirements for nursing contact hours as specified by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing 244 CMR 5.04.
