Introduction to Psychosis Care

Training Description:

For teens and young adults experiencing psychotic symptoms, specialized early intervention provides the best hope for recovery. This training will be a self-guided, module-based introduction to psychosis which is intended to familiarize staff with psychosis and provide a framework for assessing and referring youth for specialty care. In this training, staff from the Massachusetts Psychosis Network for Early Treatment (MAPNET) and the Massachusetts Psychosis Access & Triage Hub (M-PATH) will discuss strategies to assess, communicate with, and support youth who are experiencing psychosis and their families. In addition, the training will share resources to connect with specialized consultation and treatment for psychosis in Massachusetts.

Training Objectives:

After participating in this training participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the Psychosis Continuum
  2. Assess for psychosis and risk for self-harm
  3. Demonstrate communication techniques with individuals experiencing psychosis and families.
